Surveillance Agent™

Surveillance Agent is a powerful software package that can be integrated with current surveillance systems to allow for detailed target analysis over thousands of targets in a real-time environment or in a post-processing/analysis environment.

Surveillance Agent™ is a powerful COTS software product, the outcome of a joint R&D program between AOS and the Australian Department of Defence's DSTO (Defence Science & Technology Organisation). It provides automated and detailed target analysis over thousands of tracks in a real-time environment or in a post-processing/analysis situation. It can be integrated with current surveillance systems, and is designed as a key component of the future of Network Enabled Capability (NEC).

Surveillance Agent is JACK-based and utilises real-time or stored target positional movement data and then applies appropriate user-defined behaviour recognition procedures in order to identify similar/dissimilar behaviour patterns and common land/air/sea usage patterns.

Surveillance Agent can assist civilian and military authorities with the following surveillance tasks:

  • Recognise the intentions of individual or groups of targets – such as meeting points or common travel routes
  • Identify irregular behaviour in shipping lanes – such as speed deviations and tracking deviations
  • Identify irregular behaviour in flight corridors – such as speed, height and tracking deviations
  • Identify targets that deviate from planned route corridors. Corridor parameters (distances) can be set by the system user
  • Identify targets that meet or stop at uncommon seaports or aerodromes

In addition to its ability to provide post-processing of recognised situation pictures, Surveillance Agent can be applied to electronic signals analysis, such as traffic analysis. Where humans would have once had to interpret simple algorithmic analyses of traffic, Surveillance Agent can be configured to take context into account when performing the analysis.
